The key distinction is that the 107 engine bay sheet metal was designed to accommodate the M117 engine. As others have mentioned, it's the electronics that occasionally misbehave- but it's so well documented and understood at the hobbyist level now, that there isn't much you can possibly run into that others haven't already found a solution for. Owning an OBD2 reader is a must.People on this forum in the past have said there is something on the generic power steering pump pullers in the first attached picture that can be ground to fit the Mercedes ones. The generic one works well on US PS pumps. Autozone has a free rental on them. The next attached picture is a snap-on style one.Rotate engine clockwise till you reach the compression stroke of cylinder #1. Hold short of the required IP timing, start around 30-40* BTDC.
